Perfect for all levels (even if you’ve never picked up a brush or used oil, or an intermediate painter who wants to learn some new techniques), the workshop is broken down into two parts: Beginning at 10AM, Augusta will guide you through how to create your own balanced color palette, by working off of an inspiration you provide [can be a printed image, an image on your phone, or even a piece of fabric). Examples include pictures from magazines (particularly those of rooms you like), fashion/clothing, landscapes; whatever catches your eye in terms of color combination!].
The workshop will break for lunch at 1PM until 2PM (the studio is five minutes from downtown Decatur, which offers a variety of fantastic lunch options). Once reconvened at 2PM, the workshop will focus on building a composed abstract composition, applying both color palette and compositional work to a 40” x 40” canvas using multiple painting techniques and theories. By the end of the afternoon (5PM), you’ll have completed your own abstract painting in oil paint to take home!
Supplies: All supplies provided (Including your 40" x 40" x 2" canvas!)
